Images, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, and PDF can move between those formats. The browser has no desktop layout engine, so the result favors reading and editing over a pixel-perfect copy.

Text in a scan needs OCR first. Otherwise Word or Excel has no characters to extract.
